Our turbines and control systems are Made in South Tyrol – engineered for maximum efficiency, long service life, and low-maintenance operation.

We deliver tailor-made solutions for every operator profile. Our clients are as diverse as the requirements in hydropower generation. They include private individuals, companies, cooperatives, drinking water and energy utilities, grid operators, and public authorities.

Each hydropower plant is individually engineered to match site-specific parameters such as head, water flow and intended use. The result is not a standard solution, but a unique system – custom-built technology designed for maximum efficiency and operational reliability.

sora takes its name from company founder Kassian Sora, who realized his first turbine project in Val Badia in 1989, laying the foundation for the company’s future development.

In 2014, the company was acquired by new shareholders – a step that resulted in a significant increase in know-how and a strong phase of growth. Since then, sora has been active not only in South Tyrol but throughout the entire Alpine region as an experienced hydropower plant constructor, firmly established within the industry.

Today, a team of 25 skilled professionals works across engineering, manufacturing and installation, supported by extensive in-house expertise and independent production capabilities. Through close cooperation with en-co, led by Matthias Steindl, we also offer hydropower plant solutions as a full-service provider.

For four decades, we have been designing and delivering environmentally friendly small hydropower plants precisely tailored to specific requirements. Our portfolio includes both high-head and low-head turbines, covering Pelton, Francis, Diagonal and Kaplan turbine types.

Our headquarters are located directly in the artisan zone of Ehrenburg (Kiens) in the Puster Valley, South Tyrol. Thanks to the convenient location along the Puster Valley state road (SS49), we are easily accessible from both Brixen and Bruneck.

• Directions from the West (Brixen / A22 Motorway): Take the Puster Valley exit and follow the SS49 for approximately 20 minutes. At the entrance to Kiens/Ehrenburg, turn right towards the artisan zone.

• Directions from the East (Bruneck / Innichen): Follow the SS49 in the direction of Brixen. Shortly after passing through Kiens, turn left into the Ehrenburg artisan zone.

• Parking: Ample customer parking is available directly in front of our production facility.
