Every hydropower plant has its own hydraulic and topographical conditions. That’s why we don’t produce standard solutions, but turbines precisely adapted to head, flow rate, and intended application.

With nearly four decades of experience, we offer a complete portfolio of turbine types – from high-head to low-head plants – each manufactured as a custom-built, unique unit.

This results in technology perfectly suited to the real site conditions.

The interplay between flow rate and head forms the energetic foundation of a power plant, transforming initial possibilities into a concrete plan. This application and performance diagram visualizes our broad portfolio of turbine solutions while providing a preliminary overview of achievable nominal outputs.

Naturally, we support you with our long-standing experience and technical expertise in selecting the right turbine type. We remain the partner by your side every step of the way – from choosing the optimal turbine model and designing various plant layouts to meeting the specific control system requirements of your facility.

Pelton Turbines

Pelton turbines are the optimal solution for high heads with relatively low water flow. Depending on site requirements and technical conditions, we manufacture Pelton turbines with one to six jets, available in both horizontal and vertical configurations, with capacities of up to approximately 5 MW.

Our Pelton turbines are based on a special design developed by sora, offering operators significant advantages – including optimized flow guidance and remarkable operational smoothness.

Thanks to their robust, mature construction, Pelton turbines are ideally suited for highly dynamic pressure conditions and ensure reliable, efficient operation.

Francis Turbines

Francis turbines are the proven standard for medium head applications and are suitable for a wide range of site conditions. We manufacture them in both horizontal and vertical configurations, tailored to the geographic conditions and desired plant size – up to approximately 5 MW.

The refined design ensures reliable, efficient, and economical operation over many years. Our Francis turbines are versatile, compact in construction, and thanks to well-developed hydraulic profiles, provide stable efficiency across a broad load range.

Kaplan Turbines

Kaplan turbines are ideal for low-head applications with high flow rates. Depending on the structural requirements of the project, we manufacture them in various designs: spiral, bulb, and Kaplan-S machines, each available in horizontal or vertical orientation, either submerged or freestanding.

Thanks to their doubly regulated design with adjustable guide vanes and runner blades, Kaplan turbines achieve excellent efficiency across a wide operating range and are the preferred solution for plants with strongly fluctuating water volumes.

Diagonal Turbines

Diagonal turbines combine the advantages of Francis and Kaplan turbines and are particularly suitable for medium head applications. They are characterized by high flexibility and optimal efficiency even at low opening ranges – a clear advantage over conventional Francis turbines under partial load.

When designed as spiral turbines, they belong to the more technically sophisticated machines in small hydropower, yet in the right application they provide exceptionally smooth regulation and high overall efficiency.

Drinking Water Turbines

Drinking water turbines enable energy generation directly within existing or new drinking water networks – reliable, compact, and fully hygienic.

We use not only materials that comply with drinking water standards, but also certified sealing systems to completely prevent oils or greases from entering the water cycle.

These turbines are designed as closed systems, ensuring the safe handling of drinking water at all times.

Off-Grid Power Systems

Off-grid power systems enable autonomous electricity supply far from the public grid. We develop application-specific solutions that operate reliably even in remote regions – optionally combined with additional energy sources such as battery storage systems or photovoltaic installations.

The focus is on reliable, robust, and well-coordinated technology that can be deployed wherever energy is required, but no grid connection is available.

Our turbines are more than machines – they are the result of experience, responsibility, and the ambition to make energy meaningful and sustainable. Just as each plant is developed in close harmony with its natural environment and designed to deliver durable technology for generations, we work hand in hand with our partners to combine turbine engineering and electromechanics into a single, integrated solution.
Our complete solutions stand for long-lasting technology with lasting value.

Closely interlinked steel construction and electrical engineering form the foundation for solutions that not only perform reliably today, but continue to do so tomorrow. For us, progress means preserving values while opening pathways toward an energy-efficient future.
